Monocrystal produces a wide range of metallization pastes and powders for solar cells used in solar energy generation (PV).
The obvious advantages of solar energy over other conventional non-renewable and alternative renewable energy sources enable the transition from limited non-renewable hydrocarbon resources to unlimited solar resources.
In addition, PV is an environmentally friendly way to generate electric power. In spite of the fact that conventional electric power is still cheaper, solar electric power systems have become economically viable for low-power consumers in remote areas away from centralized electric networks.
Recent issues in the solar energy market include price increase for conventional electric power and oil, the development of solar cell production technologies, and creation of new capacity for polysilicon production.
Our investments in 2005 and 2006 enabled us to completely reequip the paste production line and increase its capacity. A wide range of control and analysis equipment from leading U.S., German, Japanese, and Italian companies provide capabilities for conducting R&D on paste and powder production technologies.
In 2008, we developed and supplied new top-quality metallization pastes for solar cells. According to testing by two independent European research centers, the aluminum paste, developed by our experts in metallization of silicon wafers less than 240 μm thick, was declared the world’s best for its technical characteristics.
Monocrystal was officially named the first company in the world to offer a complete set of lead-free pastes for making contact combinations on a silicon solar cell.
